QuantDinger isn't a bot — it's a full AI trading operating system. Multi-LLM research feeds into Python-native strategy engines, server-side backtesting validates ideas, and automated execution runs across crypto venues, IBKR, and Alpaca. Dual strategy runtimes (IndicatorStrategy for quick research, ScriptStrategy for production) give you the right tool for each stage. First-class MCP support means Cursor and Claude Code integrate directly. PostgreSQL 18 + Redis 8 infrastructure, paper-only trading by default with audit logs. Supports 11 languages. Built for operators — meaning Docker, self-hosting, and a steep learning curve. If you want an AI-native stack that rivals institutional tooling, this is it. Just know it demands technical skill.
★4 — Solid framework, but know what you are getting
I have been running QuantDinger for a few months and it is a solid open-source trading framework — but you need to know what you are getting into. It is free and self-hosted, which is great, but that means you manage everything: Docker, Python strategies, broker API keys, and infrastructure. The AI research features are genuinely useful for ideation — you can have Claude or GPT analyze market conditions and suggest strategy adjustments, then backtest them. The backtesting engine is deterministic and handles commission modeling properly. Multi-broker support is a plus: I use it for crypto on Binance and equities on IBKR. The learning curve is real though — this is not a set-and-forget bot. You need Python skills and a willingness to debug your own strategies. If you are a trader who can code or wants to learn, it is one of the best open-source options. If you want a ready-made signal service, look elsewhere.

★5 — Open-source AI trading OS — not a signal bot
QuantDinger is not your typical trading bot — it is an open-source AI trading operating system. You self-host it via Docker, connect your own exchange API keys and broker accounts, and write Python strategies that run against its backtesting engine. The AI-assisted market research feature is interesting: you can have an LLM analyze market conditions and generate strategy ideas, then backtest them deterministically with commission modeling. Setup is not trivial — you need to be comfortable with Docker, Python, and managing your own infrastructure. But the trade-off is full control and zero monthly fees. It supports crypto exchanges, IBKR for equities, and MT5 for forex/futures. The MCP gateway lets AI coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor interact with your trading stack directly. This is for quants and technical traders who want a self-hosted research lab, not a plug-and-play signal bot.
